


Calico Bowl 2025
In March 2025, Flick was was commissioned by a client to make a bowl of flowers using Calico china for her friend's 60th birthday. The client and her friend went to college in Stoke-on-Trent in the 1980s and used to collect broken pieces of Calico pottery from the tip in Burslem.

Oswaldkirk Village 2024
In 2024, Frances was approached by Mike Aherne from Oswaldkirk Village and asked about a repair job for their Millennium Mosaic, which had been damaged when a car drove into it! Unfortunately the panels were beyond repair, so she was commissioned to completely remake the mosaics as a copy of the original which had been made by the villagers. Each panel is 56 x 74 cm and made from ceramic and vitreous glass tiles on outdoor board. The finished mosaic will go on permanent display in the summer of 2025



Memorial Mosaic for Vivienne 2022
In 2022 BAMM North member, Viv Sendall, died suddenly and unexpectedly. Her husband commissioned Viv’s good friend Flick to create a whirlpool bowl in her memory. The bowl, which is filled with water, contains a solar powered fountain and is situated in Ian and Viv’s sunny south-facing garden in Riddlesden, West Yorkshire.


Chapel Lodge 2021
Chapel Lodge was a commission undertaken in 2021 by Frances for a couple to go in a blocked outside arched window at their newly renovated home. It is full of visual representations of important things or moments from their lives together.
Swimming Pool 2019


The Diver was made by Frances in 2019 for the side of a diving board at an Italian villa swimming pool. It was based on The Tomb of the Diver, a 500 BC fresco in Italy which the owner really liked.
Besprode Pianos, Leeds 2016
In 201, Besprode Pianos in Leeds commissioned Frances to mosaic a grand piano. This design was created using vitreous tiles and stained glass.



Leeds International Piano Competition 2015

Frances was commissioned to mosaic an upright piano for the Leeds International Piano Competition in 2015. It was in the street and being played daily until the weather eventually got the better of it!

Rosedale Abbey 2011
These stepping-stones, measuring 45cm in diameter, were a commission made by Frances in 2011 for a garden in Rosedale Abbey in North Yorkshire.
